American Airlines Hits 100 Latin American and Caribbean Destinations from Miami with Additions of Maracaibo and Cap-Haïtien

As it marks its centennial year, American Airlines is set to cement its legacy as the carrier with the largest flight network between the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean. The airline will reach a historic milestone of 100 regional destinations served out of Miami, adding its 99th and 100th destinations with new services to Maracaibo, Venezuela, and Cap-Haïtien, Haiti.

“American connects the United States to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America better than any other airline,” said Nat Pieper, the company’s Chief Commercial Officer. “We are committed to meeting the needs of travelers by offering more flights to more destinations in the region than any other U.S. carrier.”

Maracaibo and Cap-Haïtien: New Network Additions

The addition of Maracaibo and Cap-Haïtien directly bolsters the airline’s footprint in key markets requiring efficient connectivity for business travel and VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives) traffic.

More Flights to Venezuela

Beginning July 14, the airline will launch flights to Maracaibo, providing the only nonstop service available from the United States. This new route aims to further foster commercial ties and strengthen connections with family and friends, complementing the carrier’s existing twice-daily service between Miami and Caracas.

Reconnecting with Haiti

On November 1, the carrier will resume operations to Haiti with nonstop flights to Cap-Haïtien.

Given that South Florida is home to the largest Haitian-American population in the United States, this daily service will significantly streamline travel.

Strengthening the Miami Hub and Winter Frequency Boost

As Miami’s hometown airline, the carrier connects the city to the world via a network exceeding 410 daily departures on peak days. Looking ahead to the winter season, the airline will boost frequencies across several key regional routes:

To support this remarkable growth over the coming years, the company will further invest in its premium travel experience out of Miami. The airline’s future infrastructure plans include the opening of a new Flagship Lounge and a comprehensive overhaul of Concourse D at the Sunshine State’s premier hub.
