Volotea has announced the launch of a new international route connecting Valencia with Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport. This link marks a historic milestone for the European carrier, becoming its first direct connection between the Valencian capital and the African continent.
Operational Details of the Route
The new air link between Spain and Algeria will commence operations on November 28, 2026. The airline has scheduled a regular service structured around three weekly frequencies: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Tickets for this new route are already available for purchase through the company’s official channels, with introductory fares starting at 29 euros per segment.

Strategic Growth and Connectivity in the Valencian Community
The addition of Algiers is a direct response to the airline’s international expansion strategy in Spain. As explained by Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s Chief Strategy Officer, this route reinforces the carrier’s commitment to the Valencian Community market, expanding connectivity options at competitive prices.
By the end of 2026, the company projects a massive increase in its operational capacity from Valencia:
- Total Capacity: More than 358,000 available seats.
- Percentage Growth: A 39% increase compared to 2025 levels.
- Global Network: A portfolio of eight routes operated from Valencia, consolidating five international connections.

Volotea’s network offering at the Valencian airport will be split between established routes and four key launches scheduled for this year (Algiers, Florence, Lille, and Santander):

With this operational base and an expanding network, Volotea solidifies its competitive position in the Mediterranean corridor ahead of the 2026 season.
