Abra Group, the parent company of airlines Avianca and Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, is in the final stages of negotiations to finalize an order for Embraer E2 family aircraft, according to sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Bloomberg.

The firm order could encompass up to 20 E2 aircraft. This key commercial agreement is projected to be officially announced next week at the prestigious Farnborough International Airshow.

The distribution of these aircraft will be managed directly under the group’s corporate portfolio, opening up the possibility for the airframes to be split among the airlines that comprise Abra Group’s portfolio.

The closing of this negotiation will mark a significant milestone in the conglomerate’s fleet strategy. The final confirmation of financial terms, corresponding delivery schedules, and the specific aircraft allocation for each operator are expected to be disclosed during the aerospace trade show in the United Kingdom.
