Abra Group—the airline holding company and parent entity of Avianca, Gol Linhas Aéreas, and Wamos Air—and Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer have formally announced a commercial deal that marks a major milestone for the regional aviation sector. The agreement establishes a firm order by Abra for 20 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, supplemented by 10 purchase options and 15 additional purchase rights, bringing the potential transaction to up to 45 aircraft, subject to customary closing conditions.
The first delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.
The Embraer E195-E2, the largest variant in Embraer’s next-generation E-Jet E2 family, is designed to optimize fuel burn, reduce emissions, and elevate passenger comfort standards. By integrating this fleet, Abra Group aims to solidify its position as a pan-Latin American aviation platform, investing in enhanced regional connectivity and providing greater operational flexibility to serve domestic and regional markets where rightsizing capacity creates new network opportunities.

Leadership from both companies underscored the operational impact this fleet will bring to regional air integration:
“The E195-E2 will give Abra the flexibility to pursue new opportunities within our disciplined approach to fleet deployment, delivering greater value when and where our customers need it most. This agreement reflects our commitment to continuing to invest in efficient, state-of-the-art aircraft as we expand connectivity and strengthen our network both regionally and domestically.”
— Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Abra Group
“We are proud to support Abra Group on its growth trajectory with the E195-E2, one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly single-aisle aircraft available today. This agreement reinforces Embraer’s position as a key partner for airlines seeking versatility and performance in the small narrowbody segment.”
— Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation
Once final contractual conditions are satisfied, the order will be added to Embraer’s third-quarter backlog. Upon the delivery of the first aircraft, Abra Group will begin the phased induction of the E195-E2s, boosting its route network and tactical capacity deployment across key markets in the region.
