Air France has officially opened its new airport lounge at London Heathrow International Airport, a strategic hub within its medium-haul network. For the first time at this airport, the carrier is offering an elegant, refined French-style space designed to provide peace, tranquility, and comfort to passengers prior to departure or during layovers.
A Haven of Design and Comfort in Terminal 4
Located in Heathrow’s Terminal 4, this new lounge is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The facility is accessible to La Première and Business Class customers, Flying Blue Elite Plus members, as well as eligible KLM and SkyTeam alliance partner airline passengers.
The facility was designed by Air France’s in-house teams in collaboration with the MARKS Brandimage agency. Spanning over 750 square meters with a seating capacity for nearly 150 guests, the space stands out for its expansive floor-to-ceiling windows offering apron and runway views, alongside a carefully curated brand identity. Inside, the airline’s historic symbol—the winged seahorse—is on display alongside a selection of posters illustrating the company’s heritage. An elegant and relaxing atmosphere is achieved through the airline’s corporate colors (shades of blue, bright white, and touches of red) and furniture from prominent French designers such as Margaux Keller, Pierre Paulin, Patrick Jouin, and Christophe Pillet.
French Gastronomy and Sustainable Commitment
The heart of the lounge features a dining area designed to seat approximately sixty guests, combining tables for two with a large communal table. The menu is varied, rotating throughout the day to include hot, cold, savory, sweet, and vegetarian options. With the opening of this lounge, travelers can enjoy traditional French cuisine classics such as beef bourguignon.
Additionally, the lounge features a modern, sophisticated bar staffed by a bartender, offering a premium selection of champagne, French wines, and spirits.
Focus on Sustainability
In line with responsible management practices, Air France applies the following eco-friendly criteria to its catering services:
- Local Ingredients: Prioritizing local and seasonal produce for menu preparation.
- Waste Reduction: Placing special emphasis on minimizing food waste and recycling discarded materials.
- Plastic Reduction: Providing water dispensers to limit the use of single-use plastic bottles.
Wellness with Clarins and High-Exclusivity Spaces
Wellness is a fundamental cornerstone of this new space, thanks to a nearly 20-year partnership between Air France and the cosmetics brand Clarins. The lounge features a private treatment area where expert estheticians offer complimentary treatments to guests, with three options to choose from: ‘Anti Jet-Lag’, ‘L’Instant Detox’, and ‘Focus Regard’.
This wellness zone will be fully operational from Monday to Friday starting July 13, 2026. Bookings can be managed directly at the Clarins reception desk inside the lounge.
Premium Privacy Areas
- La Première Space: Customers traveling in this class have access to a private zone with tailored boutique service, inspired by the long-haul flight suites departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. It features five seats, prime airfield views, at-seat dining service, and the exclusive “Destination Relaxation” treatment in the Clarins area (available to book via a dedicated phone number).
- Flying Blue Ultimate Space: An exclusive area guaranteeing privacy and rest through four comfortable armchairs, while maintaining seamless access to all lounge amenities.
Connectivity and Digital Services
To ensure a seamless passenger journey, the lounge entrance is equipped with self-service kiosks for automated eligibility verification. Essential amenities available throughout the lounge include:
- A secluded relaxation zone featuring a dimmed atmosphere.
- A quiet and functional workspace.
- TV screens, complimentary Wi-Fi, and multiple power outlets and USB ports adjacent to the seats.
- Access to digital French and international newspapers and magazines via the Air France Press application.
The opening of this premium lounge strengthens Air France’s value proposition in the British market. During the summer season, the airline operates up to six daily flights between London Heathrow and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, allowing customers to efficiently connect to the carrier’s global network via its Paris hub.
