Condor Expands Transatlantic Network: Adds Frankfurt–Chicago Nonstop Service for Summer 2027

Beginning May 14, 2027, German carrier Condor will operate a new daily nonstop service between Frankfurt and Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The seasonal route will run through September 12, 2027, expanding the airline’s North American footprint by linking the European continent with one of the primary financial, industrial, and aviation hubs in the United States.

North American Expansion and Strategic Connectivity

Chicago stands out as a critical addition to the airline’s transatlantic network. As one of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. and home to one of the country’s largest German-American communities, the city represents a strategic market for both corporate and VFR/leisure traffic. Beyond its tourist draws—such as its architecture, museums, and culinary and cultural offerings along the shores of Lake Michigan—the metropolis serves as a gateway to the American Midwest.

Condor CEO Peter Gerber highlighted the strategic importance of the route: “Chicago is an ideal addition to our North American network and a market with significant potential for both leisure and business travel. With this new service, we offer our customers convenient access to one of the most important metropolitan regions in the U.S., while providing Chicago-based travelers with seamless connections to Europe via our Frankfurt hub.”

The route will enable U.S.-originating passengers to connect to Condor’s broader European network and global partner airlines via Frankfurt. Likewise, it will facilitate direct point-to-point travel for passengers bound for the Chicago metropolitan area for family, leisure, or business purposes.
