JetBlue has marked a major milestone in its network strategy by launching the largest operational expansion in its history at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The airline has simultaneously inaugurated eight nonstop destinations and plans to add six more routes in the coming months, solidifying its leadership in South Florida through an unprecedented offering in this key market.
A Record-Breaking Deployment of Routes and Frequencies
With this ambitious expansion, the carrier is immediately boosting its presence in Fort Lauderdale, surpassing 125 daily departures to more than 55 nonstop destinations. This growth represents an increase of over 75% in daily departures compared to the same period last year—an acceleration that has resulted in the launch of 24 nonstop destinations since last December.
The airline’s roadmap aims to maintain this upward momentum throughout the year. Capacity projections point toward reaching approximately 150 daily flights during the winter season, strengthening the terminal’s regional and domestic connectivity.
New Destinations and Launch Schedule
The growth plan is being executed in two distinct phases, covering both the US domestic market and international connectivity with Latin America and the Caribbean:
Routes Operating Immediately
Effective immediately, daily nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale are being added to the route map to:
- Baltimore: 3 daily flights.
- Charlotte: 3 daily flights.
- Cleveland
- Nashville
- Detroit
- Houston
- Chicago
- Ponce, Puerto Rico
Upcoming Operational Launches
In the coming months, direct services will be added to the following domestic and regulated markets:
- Barranquilla, Colombia: 1 daily flight (scheduled for October 1, 2026).
- Cali, Colombia: 1 daily flight (scheduled for October 15, 2026).
- Columbus, Ohio: 1 daily flight (scheduled for November 2, 2026).
- Indianapolis: 1 daily flight (scheduled for November 2, 2026).
- San Diego
- Caracas, Venezuela: 1 daily flight (launch date to be confirmed).
Commitment to the Premium Segment on the West Coast
The airline’s expansion in South Florida is not limited to flight frequencies alone; it also includes the diversification of its onboard product. On November 19, the carrier will introduce its premium Mint service for the first time on the route between Fort Lauderdale and San Diego. This daily service will offer the only lie-flat seat product in that market.
Additionally, the premium transcontinental offering will be reinforced during the winter with Mint-equipped flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco, raising the standard of comfort for business and high-value travelers connecting with the US West Coast.
