Avianca inaugurated a new direct route on Friday connecting El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá with La Chinita International Airport in Maracaibo. The new daily service will boost passenger traffic and commercial trade between the Colombian capital and western Venezuela’s primary economic hub.
Flight Schedule: Bogotá – Maracaibo – Bogotá
The route will operate under the following timetable:
- Bogotá – Maracaibo: Departure: 15:05 | Arrival: 17:40
- Maracaibo – Bogotá: Departure: 19:00 | Arrival: 19:25
Resumption of Service to Caracas and Consolidation in Valencia
Parallel to the Maracaibo launch, Avianca confirmed it will resume daily operations between Bogotá and Maiquetía’s Simón Bolívar International Airport, serving Caracas, effective September 1.

This strategic addition reinforces the airline’s regional footprint, complementing its existing connectivity through daily direct flights between Bogotá and Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia.
Capacity, Fleet, and Regional Commitment
With the addition of Maracaibo, the resumption of Caracas services, and the daily link to Valencia, Avianca will offer over 7,500 weekly seats across the Colombia–Venezuela bilateral market. All flights will be operated using Airbus A320-family aircraft configured for 180 passengers.

We will continue to explore alternatives to maintain efficient connectivity between both nations,” said David Alemán, Sales Director for South America at Avianca.
The simultaneous footprint across Caracas, Maracaibo, and Valencia positions the carrier as a pivotal player in the recovery of regional cross-border air transport. The airline stated it will continue evaluating operational opportunities to ensure a sustainable and efficient network linking both countries.
