In a strategic move to solidify its corporate and premium value proposition at its second-largest hub, JetBlue Airways announced the opening of its second airport lounge, branded as BlueHouse™, located in Terminal C at Boston Logan International Airport. The facility will open its doors at 5:00 a.m. next Thursday, August 27, 2026. Alongside the debut of this infrastructure, the airline confirmed a major update to its eligibility policies: complimentary access will be extended to all passengers holding confirmed tickets in Mint and Mint Flex fares.
JetForward Strategy: Elevating the Ground and Air Experience
The development of BlueHouse™ Boston represents a central pillar within the company’s comprehensive JetForward strategy, designed to transform the customer experience and strengthen the airline’s premium service offerings. Spanning 12,000 square feet (approximately 1,115 square meters), the venue blends architectural and culinary elements inspired by the history, neighborhoods, and cultural heritage of Boston and the New England region.
“BlueHouse Boston offers our customers a new way to experience the thoughtful hospitality and elevated amenities they expect from JetBlue, both on the ground and in the air,” said Marty St. George, President of JetBlue. “We are thrilled to extend this experience to more customers while maintaining controlled access to ensure our lounges remain comfortable, welcoming spaces where travelers can truly relax before a flight.”
Signature Features and Culinary Offerings at BlueHouse™ Boston
The lounge’s architecture and interior design were conceived to evoke the aesthetic of a private New England residence, integrating wood finishes, copper accents, and decorative elements inspired by iconic districts such as Beacon Hill and Downtown Boston. Key specifications and thematic zones include:
- The Neighborhood Bar: The central social hub of the venue, featuring a slatted wood ceiling stained in “Nantucket Blue,” copper details, and a custom-designed central chandelier paying homage to the historic Boston Light.
- Artisanal Dining and Mixology: A menu of plated hot dishes incorporating local ingredients, such as North Shore roast beef sliders as well as crab and shrimp rolls. The beverage lineup features signature cocktails crafted by mixologist Jackson Cannon (of the renowned bar Equal Measure), specialty coffee and espresso from George Howell Coffee, regional craft beer curated by The Publick House, and confections from Madeleine’s Candy Shop.
- The Library Workspace: A high-concentration work area inspired by the architecture of the Boston Public Library, outfitted with high-speed Wi-Fi, power outlets at every station, and private individual booths for video calls and phone conversations.
- The Dugout and The Candy Closet: A themed sports-centric recreational area showcasing official memorabilia from regional sports partners, complemented by an interactive station where passengers can assemble custom candy bags.
- Exclusive Richard Scarry Artwork: A custom mural created for JetBlue by Boston-born illustrator and author Richard Scarry, depicting his iconic Busy World characters interacting with one of the carrier’s aircraft.

Fare Restructuring: Introduction of Mint Base and Access Breakdown
The opening of the lounge is accompanied by a strategic restructuring of the airline’s premium class commercial offerings. JetBlue announced that in the coming weeks it will launch the new Mint Base fare, a lower-priced option designed to broaden access to the onboard Mint cabin experience.
Unlike traditional Mint and Mint Flex fares, the Mint Base tier will carry the following operational restrictions:
- No BlueHouse™ Lounge Access: Excludes entry to the ground VIP facilities.
- Paid Seat Selection: Advance seat assignment will require an additional fee.
- Change Penalties: Administrative fees will apply for itinerary changes or cancellations.
Passengers opting for Mint and Mint Flex fares will retain all comprehensive benefits, including complimentary BlueHouse™ lounge access, seat selection at no extra cost, and full flexibility with zero change or cancellation fees.

During the summer 2026 peak season, JetBlue is maintaining an operational schedule exceeding 133 daily departures from Boston to 68 destinations. Of these, 25 are international routes, including nine daily non-stop flights to the European continent, highlighted by the recent expansion of its transatlantic network to Barcelona and Milan.
