Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will reconnect Scandinavia with India starting October 1, 2026, with direct flights between Copenhagen and Mumbai.
This launch marks the airline’s return to the Indian market following a 17-year absence. The year-round non-stop service will bolster Copenhagen Airport’s position as a key international hub, facilitating passenger flow across its European and long-haul network, including destinations such as New York, Boston, and Toronto.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome passengers aboard our new direct service to Mumbai. This strategic route represents an extraordinary milestone for SAS, effortlessly opening doors between Scandinavia and one of the world’s most dynamic economic hubs. As SAS celebrates 80 years of pioneering international travel, reconnecting our regions is a moment of profound pride for all of us.”
The Copenhagen–Mumbai service will be operated using Airbus A330 aircraft, configured with a total of 266 seats. The carrier will offer five weekly frequencies, providing operational reliability and seamless connectivity.
Tickets for the route are officially on sale across all company distribution channels. With this addition, SAS aims to unlock new opportunities for tourism, business, and cultural exchange between Northern Europe and India’s financial capital.
