In a significant step forward in the evolution of its passenger experience, Southwest Airlines disclosed plans for the creation of its first-ever airport lounge network. To carry out this project, the carrier has partnered with Chase, combining its customer service with the operational model and amenities of the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge Network.
Each venue will feature a sophisticated design, locally inspired dining options, and premium amenities.
According to Tony Roach, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer and Brand Officer at Southwest Airlines, the addition of these facilities represents a strategic investment in the Rapid Rewards loyalty program and strengthens a 30-year commercial relationship with Chase.

Initial Locations and Opening Schedule
Construction is already underway at the first four selected airports, with initial passenger entry scheduled for late 2027:
- Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
- Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport
- Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (Honolulu)
- Nashville International Airport
This initial phase forms part of a broader expansion plan across the airline’s network. The opening of at least seven additional lounges is projected over subsequent years in key high-demand corporate and leisure markets.
Lounge Access Framework
Access to this new lounge network will be tied to a new premium Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card issued by Chase, which is scheduled to launch in 2027.
