JetBlue Launches New Fort Lauderdale–Cali Route

JetBlue inaugurated daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Cali’s Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport on Thursday. The addition strengthens the US carrier’s footprint in southwestern Colombia while expanding connectivity options to South Florida and its broader route network.

The route is operated utilizing Airbus A320 aircraft. In-flight amenities feature the airline’s signature main cabin product, equipped with complimentary high-speed Fly-Fi® broadband internet, seatback inflight entertainment (IFE) screens offering live television at every seat, and a complimentary selection of brand-name snacks and beverages.

Consolidating Network Presence in Colombia and Latin America

With the launch of this service, Cali becomes JetBlue’s fourth destination in Colombia, joining Cartagena and Medellin, and complementing the Fort Lauderdale–Barranquilla route introduced earlier this month.

This series of route additions underscores the strategic importance of the region to the carrier, where Latin America and the Caribbean account for roughly one-third of its total operational capacity.

Commenting on the milestone, Daniel Shurz, Head of Revenue, Network and Enterprise Planning at JetBlue, stated:

“The addition of Cali marks another major milestone in JetBlue’s continued growth in Colombia, extending our award-winning service and competitive fares to even more customers. This new service provides travelers with more options between Colombia and South Florida, as well as onward connections beyond Fort Lauderdale, underscoring our ongoing commitment to the country and our focus on expanding into markets with robust demand and opportunities to inject greater seat capacity and competition.”

Historic Hub Expansion at Fort Lauderdale

The inaugural service to Cali is part of the largest network expansion ever executed by JetBlue at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport—its inaugural focus city and a key operating base. Today, JetBlue is the leading carrier at the airport, operating more departures and serving more nonstop destinations from Fort Lauderdale than any other airline.

Key highlights of the carrier’s recent growth at Fort Lauderdale include:

The new connection cements JetBlue’s position in the US-Colombia air travel market, enhancing fare competition and effectively linking the Valle del Cauca department with major connecting hubs across the United States and the Caribbean.
