LATAM Airlines Brazil has formally taken delivery of its first Embraer E195-E2. This operational milestone will bolster connectivity across the South American nation, marking the launch of a fleet plan focused on optimizing regional routes and expanding the carrier’s domestic footprint.
The delivery of this twinjet represents the first step following the announcement made in September 2025, when LATAM Airlines Group revealed an order for up to 74 aircraft of this type. This initial airframe is part of a first batch of 12 E195-E2s slated for delivery toward late 2026, with an additional 12 aircraft scheduled to follow in 2027.
The entry into service of this model will strengthen the airline’s operational footprint in Brazil, which has grown from 44 served airports six years ago to 63 today.
According to Jerome Cadier, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LATAM Airlines Brazil: “We selected the E195-E2 with a clear objective: to sustainably continue expanding LATAM’s presence in Brazil. With the E2, we will connect new markets boasting robust demand and economic potential into our global network, allowing us to surpass the 70-airport milestone in Brazil as early as 2027.”
Meanwhile, Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of Embraer, highlighted:
“We are proud to celebrate the completion of LATAM Airlines Brazil’s first E195-E2. This aircraft will play a vital role in the airline’s strategy to expand connectivity, delivering the ideal blend of efficiency, operational flexibility, and passenger comfort. It is gratifying to see the E195-E2 helping connect new destinations while driving the development of air transportation across Brazil.”
Network Rollout: New Routes and Regional Destinations
The carrier’s first E195-E2s are scheduled to enter service between November 2026 and March 2027. During this initial phase, the first 14 aircraft will be deployed across:
- 42 total routes, including eight brand-new routes.
- Four brand-new destinations within the airline’s network:
- Cabo Frio
- Ji-Parana
- Macae
- Rondonopolis
With the launch of these flights, LATAM Airlines Brazil will operate the largest domestic network in its history. Furthermore, the airline is already assessing the feasibility of adding up to 18 new destinations in 2027 using this aircraft type, enhancing connectivity from its primary hub airports.
Fast-Track Certification Supported by the “Profit Hunter”
Following delivery, the aircraft will proceed to the final pre-service stages, which include customs clearance, cabin interior sign-off, and completing operational certification with Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).

LATAM is projected to finalize operational certification for the E195-E2 roughly one year after announcing the order. This expedited timeline was achieved through close coordination between various airline and OEM teams:
- Demonstrator Aircraft Utilization: In an unprecedented move, LATAM leveraged the manufacturer’s demonstration airframe, widely known as the “Profit Hunter.”
- Testing and Crew Training: The aircraft was used for emergency evacuation drills, evaluation flights, and type-rating/qualification training for pilots and cabin crew.
- Streamlined Timelines: This approach cut the required lead time roughly in half while upholding all civil aviation safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Cabin Layout and In-Flight Passenger Experience
LATAM’s new Embraer E195-E2s will be configured in a 136-seat layout featuring a 2-2 cross-section (with no middle seats), split into two classes:
- Premium Economy: Offering up to 20 seats (depending on the specific configuration), featuring extra legroom, enhanced recline, and dedicated in-flight service.
- Economy: Standard seats in a 2-2 layout.
In terms of connectivity and in-flight entertainment (IFE), the entire E2 fleet will feature:
- Complimentary Wi-Fi for registered LATAM Pass members.
- USB-C power ports installed at every seat.
- Access to LATAM Play, the carrier’s wireless in-flight entertainment platform featuring movies, TV shows, music, and curated media.
Next Steps
The airframe is expected to enter commercial revenue service in the coming days once cabin inspections and ANAC customs clearances are finalized. With this milestone, LATAM Airlines Brazil enhances its fleet flexibility to serve tier-two and regional markets, moving steadily toward its target of serving more than 70 Brazilian airports by 2027.
