Beginning in April 2027, LATAM Airlines Brazil will launch a new nonstop international route between São Paulo/Guarulhos and Geneva, Switzerland, marking the addition of its 11th destination in Europe and the 33rd in its international network. The operation, which remains subject to government approval, is set to bolster corporate travel, tourism, and high-value air cargo flows between South America and the European market.
Ticket sales for this new link will open on Sunday, November 1, through the airline’s official distribution channels.
Frequencies and Flight Schedules
The service will operate three times weekly. The scheduled itineraries (expressed in local times and subject to change) are as follows:
- São Paulo/Guarulhos – Geneva: Departs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 18:05, arriving in Switzerland at 09:55 the following day.
- Geneva – São Paulo/Guarulhos: Departs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 12:05, touching down in Brazil at 18:55 the same day.
In-Flight Experience and Cabin Retrofits
The route will be operated by long-haul Boeing 787-9 aircraft. These widebodies are part of LATAM’s ongoing fleet investment program aimed at upgrading its long-haul passenger experience. The carrier continues to roll out onboard Wi-Fi connectivity and refreshed cabin interiors, progressively outfitting its fleet with enclosed-door Premium Business suites and the intermediate Premium Comfort cabin.
“We are efficiently expanding passenger and cargo connectivity with Europe. Geneva is a major business and diplomatic hub, driving strong demand for corporate travel and tourism, particularly during the European winter,” stated Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Brazil.

Connectivity and Strategic Partnerships
The new intercontinental link will leverage the carrier’s primary hub at São Paulo/Guarulhos, feeding traffic from the Brazilian domestic network and key South American feeder markets such as Chile, Peru, and Colombia.
In Europe, partnerships with 18 interline and codeshare airlines will enable seamless onward connections from Geneva to multiple destinations, including:
- Istanbul, Turkey
- Vienna, Austria
- Warsaw, Poland
- Zurich, Switzerland
Logistics Potential and Pharmaceutical Cargo Handling
The route is positioned to play a strategic role in freight transport. LATAM Cargo will offer a weekly belly-hold capacity of 55 metric tons on the outbound leg from Guarulhos to Geneva, and 36 metric tons on the return sector.
This direct connection eliminates the need for road feeder services (trucking) from other European gateways, shaving at least eight hours off transit times for dedicated cargo bound for Switzerland.
- South American Exports: The belly capacity will accommodate general dry cargo, spare parts, industrial machinery components, and high-value goods.
- South American Imports: The service will cater to the demand for high-value shipments, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and temperature-sensitive medicinal products. Between January and July 2026, pharmaceutical volumes carried from Europe to Brazil across LATAM’s cargo subsidiaries posted a 150% year-on-year increase.
Domestic and International Network Expansion
The addition of Geneva builds on the carrier’s recent long-haul expansion, which in 2026 introduced direct services from Brazil to Amsterdam, Brussels, Cape Town, Ushuaia (seasonal), and Punta Cana, alongside planned nonstop flights between Guarulhos and Cusco, Peru, scheduled to begin in March 2027.
Domestically, LATAM Brazil is inducting Embraer E195-E2 regional jets and adding flights to Cabo Frio, Ji-Paraná, Macaé, and Rondonópolis. This brings its Brazilian network to 67 destinations—a notable rise from the 44 domestic airports served in 2019 and the 63 currently operating.
