Low-cost carrier Norwegian is set to strengthen its connectivity across the Spanish market for the Summer 2027 season, launching three nonstop routes from Seville and Santiago de Compostela to Oslo and Copenhagen. The expansion solidifies Spain’s standing as the airline’s most critical European market outside the Nordic region.

Southern Operations: Dual Nonstop Links From Seville

Operating from Seville Airport (SVQ), the carrier will schedule direct flights to two key Scandinavian hubs, structured across two strategic operational phases throughout the season:

  • Seville – Oslo: Operating with a twice-weekly frequency on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flights will run across two distinct operational windows: March 24 through June 16, and August 18 through October 30.
  • Seville – Copenhagen: Offering two weekly rotations, also scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays, mirroring the exact split-season calendar (March 24 to June 16, and August 18 to October 30).

Return to Galicia: Direct Link From Santiago de Compostela

In northwestern Spain, the airline will reactivate its presence at Galicia’s busiest hub and one of the country’s primary commercial gateways:

  • Santiago de Compostela – Copenhagen: Direct service operating from June 19 to August 18, scheduled for two departures per week (Wednesdays and Saturdays) during the peak European summer travel period.

The flight schedule is tailored to capture growing passenger demand for “coolcationing”—travelers seeking summer destinations with milder climates to escape extreme southern European heat waves.

Catharina Solli, Director of Communications at Norwegian, underscored the region’s growing appeal:

“Scandinavia has a great deal to offer Spanish travelers during the summer months. With temperate weather, stunning natural scenery, and vibrant urban centers, the region is an ideal choice for those looking for an alternative to conventional summer getaways. By launching these new routes from Seville and Santiago de Compostela, we are strengthening connectivity between Spain and Scandinavia, making it easier for more travelers to discover Oslo and Copenhagen and experience the best of Northern Europe.”

Both capitals stand out as premier destinations by blending city life with convenient access to nature: Oslo, featuring avant-garde architecture and proximity to scenic highlights such as the Oslo Fjord; and Copenhagen, recognized for its historic landmarks, world-class gastronomy, Scandinavian design, and dynamic summer atmosphere.

With the addition of these three services, Norwegian reaffirms the strategic significance of Spain within its broader route network, maintaining the country as its foremost international market outside the Nordics while optimizing point-to-point bilateral connectivity ahead of the Summer 2027 schedule.
