Condor has commenced a new daily scheduled service from Frankfurt to Bangkok via a stopover in Abu Dhabi, operated under a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways. This operation doubles the German carrier’s capacity to Thailand for the winter season and bolsters seamless connectivity between Europe and Asia.

With this new daily link, Condor complements its existing non-stop service, enabling passengers to fly between Frankfurt and Bangkok twice daily throughout the winter. The airline is deploying its Airbus A330neo long-haul fleet on the route, featuring a premium Business Class cabin and its signature onboard service.

Commenting on the expansion, Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor, stated:

“With our daily service from Frankfurt to Abu Dhabi and connecting on to Bangkok, we are expanding our winter offering to Thailand with an additional travel option. Combined with our existing non-stop service, Condor passengers can now travel from Frankfurt to Bangkok twice a day. At the same time, we are further strengthening our partnership with Etihad Airways. Via Abu Dhabi, travelers can connect to numerous destinations across our partner’s international network. On long-haul flights, we offer modern Airbus A330neo aircraft, a premium Business Class, and Condor’s attentive onboard service.”

Network Integration and Passenger Benefits

The codeshare agreement links Condor’s Frankfurt operations with Etihad Airways’ global route network, unlocking coordinated travel itineraries to multiple international markets.

Key operational and passenger experience benefits include:

  • Single-Ticket Booking: The ability to book the entire itinerary under a single ticket.
  • Through-Checked Baggage: Passengers check their luggage at the point of origin and retrieve it at their final destination, streamlining layovers in Abu Dhabi.
  • Global Connectivity: Scheduled connections to destinations across Asia, Africa, and Australia via Etihad Airways’ international network.

Meanwhile, Wei Jin, Interim Chief Revenue & Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, underscored the strategic significance of the move:

“Condor’s daily service to Frankfurt marks a significant milestone in our growing partnership. By connecting our complementary networks, we are creating more options for guests traveling between Europe, Abu Dhabi, and beyond, while Condor’s Bangkok service enhances connectivity between Europe and Asia. We are delighted to celebrate this launch with Condor today and look forward to further developing our partnership.”

The rollout of this daily service cements cooperation between both carriers, optimizing intercontinental passenger flows between Europe and key international destinations through the Abu Dhabi hub.
