{"id":100088,"date":"2020-09-15T14:40:28","date_gmt":"2020-09-15T14:40:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=100088"},"modified":"2020-09-15T14:40:33","modified_gmt":"2020-09-15T14:40:33","slug":"airbus-will-deliver-the-first-u-s-made-a220","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2020\/09\/airbus-will-deliver-the-first-u-s-made-a220.html","title":{"rendered":"Airbus will deliver the first U.S.-made A220."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Airbus <\/strong>is preparing to deliver its first U.S.-built<strong> A220 <\/strong>aircraft to Delta Air Lines this month, a milestone that comes on the company&#8217;s fifth anniversary in Mobile, Alabama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since opening the plant in 2015, Airbus has used the facility to manufacture more than 180 aircraft of the A320 family for U.S. customers, the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/en\/2020\/09\/airbus-is-inspired-by-the-flight-of-geese-to-reduce-fuel-consumption.html\">Airbus is inspired by the flight of geese to reduce fuel consumption.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;When we announced our intention to build A320 Family aircraft in the United States, and to locate that facility in Mobile, Alabama, we also stated our intention to be a good neighbor, to create jobs and opportunities, and to help strengthen the U.S. aerospace industry. Five years later, we have become a major economic driver in creating an aerospace center on the Gulf Coast,&#8221; said Jeffrey Knittel, chief executive officer of Airbus Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European manufacturer also reported that its newly expanded delivery center in Mobile will be named after one of the company&#8217;s former leaders, Tom Enders. The former CEO supported and pushed for the creation of an Airbus aircraft production facility in the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<amp-auto-ads type=\"adsense\"
