Likewise, as of October 1st, new flights will be available to and from Quito, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Miami and New York. Similarly, from October 15 the airline will travel from Bogota to additional destinations such as Cancun, Guatemala City, La Paz, Punta Cana, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, San Salvador, Santo Domingo and Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See also: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/en\/2020\/09\/avianca-achieves-credit-commitments-of-more-than-2-billion.html\">Avianca achieves credit commitments of more than $2 billion.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;For Avianca it is fundamental to continue reactivating the country&#8217;s economy, the operation and all those sectors of the chain that are leveraged by our services. Our priority will continue to be to connect Colombians and their industries to the world safely. We are confident that, as long as conditions allow, we will be able to enable more and more routes nationally and internationally,&#8221; said Julian Laverde, Vice President of Network Operations for Avianca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/en\/2020\/09\/colombia-bogota-airport-opens-a-laboratory-for-covid-19-testing.html\">Colombia: Bogota airport opens a laboratory for Covid-19 testing.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Balance of the first month of national operations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a month of having reactivated the country&#8217;s air operation under the strictest biosecurity protocols, Avianca has transported more than 136,000 passengers on more than 1,330 flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the airline offers a network of 21 national destinations, so that it has managed to connect cities such as Bogot\u00e1, Cali, Barranquilla, Medell\u00edn, Cartagena, Santa Marta, San Andr\u00e9s and from today begins the operation of flights to and from Bogot\u00e1 to Armenia, Corozal, Barrancabermeja, Yopal, Florencia, Ibagu\u00e9, Manizales, Neiva, Popay\u00e1n, Riohacha and Villavicencio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to emphasize that the resumption of the operation will be gradual and at the same time the number of flights approved by the authorities is limited.
