An Airbus A320 from United Airlines<\/strong> was forced to return to O’Hare airport on Monday afternoon due to heavy storms that hit the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Flight 349, which flew from Chicago to Washington Dulles Airport, landed at O’Hare Airport after being forced to return “due to inclement weather,” the airline confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The plane landed safely and the passengers will continue to their final destination in a new plane,” the airline said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An image posted on Twitter by passenger Alex Lang shows the plane’s windshield cracked after the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My UA349 flight literally had to make an emergency landing because for some reason we went through a hailstorm and the entire windshield cracked,” Lang tweeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
