redesigns signature onboard experience.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aviation industry is enduring its worst crisis after the pandemic crippled most flights, forcing airlines around the world to layoff employees, <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/health-coronavirus-emirates-airline-idUKL8N2HQ493\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Reuters <\/a>reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe can confirm that we\u2019ve offered some of our pilots unpaid leave for 12 months, with the possibility of an early recall back to duty depending on how quickly demand rebounds and our operational requirements,\u201d an Emirates spokeswoman said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See also: <\/strong><a Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2020.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most Emirates\u2019 employees are foreigners, meaning they are not eligible for government benefits in the United Arab Emirates where the airline is headquartered and operates from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emirates would continue to provide accommodation, medical cover and other allowances to those on unpaid leave, the spokeswoman
