The Civil Aeronautics reactivated the commercial air operations from and to the Gustavo Rojas Pinilla Airport in San Andr\u00e9s (Colombia), starting at 7:00 a.m. this Wednesday, to guarantee the departure of tourists who were trapped on the island due to the passage of Hurricane Iota , and to allow the arrival of aid to the victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the entity, from this Tuesday, November 17, the operations of the State aviation started as part of the Government’s commitment to bring help to the victims of the hurricane, as well as to their families, El Tiempo<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the air terminal presents damages in the infrastructure that are being evaluated in order to be repaired as soon as possible, the airport is in safe operation conditions, which allow the exit and entrance of airplanes for the transportation of people and the arrival of aid for the victims left by this unprecedented natural phenomenon that hit the Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the El Embrujo airport in Providencia will remain closed for commercial aviation, but State and humanitarian aviation operations will continue in order to attend to the victims and support the needs of the Island’s community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
