{"id":103550,"date":"2020-11-29T16:25:29","date_gmt":"2020-11-29T16:25:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=103550"},"modified":"2020-11-29T16:25:32","modified_gmt":"2020-11-29T16:25:32","slug":"japans-ana-will-issue-new-shares-to-pay-for-b787-aircraft-orders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2020\/11\/japans-ana-will-issue-new-shares-to-pay-for-b787-aircraft-orders.html","title":{"rendered":"Japan&#8217;s ANA will issue new shares to pay for B787 aircraft orders."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Japanese airline <strong>ANA Holdings<\/strong> said Friday it will issue new shares to raise 332 billion yen ($3.2 billion) to pay for the Boeing 787 planes it has ordered and help weather the drop in air travel caused by the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/en\/2020\/11\/us-considers-lifting-european-travel-restrictions.html\">US considers lifting European travel restrictions.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The company intends to use the new stock offering for capital expenditures, including the acquisition of 787 aircraft,&#8221; ANA said in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The stock issuance comes after ANA guaranteed $3.8 billion in subordinated loans from the state-backed Japan Development Bank and private lenders such as Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Mizuho Financial Group and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/en\/2020\/11\/global-air-transport-will-lose-157-2-billion-in-2020-and-2021.html\">Global air transport will lose $157.2 billion in 2020 and 2021.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like other major Asian airlines, ANA is trying to cope with the fallout from the pandemic by cutting costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That includes asking staff to take leave or accept pay cuts.
