After a 12-hour journey, Air Canada’s inaugural flight from Toronto landed in Doha on Wednesday, establishing Hamad International Airport as the only airport in the Middle East operating scheduled service by a North American airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight will have three weekly frequencies (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) and will be operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qatar Airways and Air Canada recently signed a code share agreement applicable to travel between Doha and Toronto. The agreement will allow passengers of both airlines to enjoy continuous one-stop connections to and from Toronto through the best airport in the Middle East, Hamad International Airport, and from there to over 75 destinations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Canada is a strategically important market for Qatar Airways, and this service will complement our current four-week service to Montreal and offer our travellers additional options when planning their travel to and from Canada. We look forward to leveraging our complementary advantages to increase the choices of our thousands of passengers and enable seamless connectivity to a significant number of new destinations, particularly throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
