European manufacturer Airbus will be the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer for the second consecutive year, ending 2020 with the resumption of deliveries of its A380 superjumbo to Emirates, although its final deliveries are likely to have decreased by 35% compared to 2019 due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unless there are further travel disruptions, industry sources expect Airbus to deliver 550-560 aircraft by 2020 after reaching more than 520 this week, with nine days of the year still ahead, Reuters<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But they warned that deliveries are subject to an unusual number of variables. It is unlikely that Airbus will repeat the record increase of more than 100 deliveries in December last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus’ total deliveries are expected to fall by 35 percent this year because of the impact of the pandemic on airlines, but the European manufacturer has an unbeatable advantage over Boeing, which delivered 118 aircraft through the end of November. Airbus delivered 477 aircraft in the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
