Qatar Airways Cargo <\/strong>received three new Boeing 777 Freighters<\/strong> as the airline continues to build its cargo division. The milestone also marks the delivery of the 200th 777F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The triple delivery comes as air cargo is playing a major role in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic – including the transport of newly approved vaccines – and is expected to increase by more than 4% over the next two decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the arrival of the B777F trio, Qatar Airways Cargo now operates 24 aircraft of this aircraft model along with two 747-8 Freighters and four A330F. As one of the world’s leading air cargo carriers, the airline’s fleet of freighters serves more than 60 destinations worldwide through its hub in Doha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With the arrival of these new freighters, we are injecting more capacity into the market, which is much needed during the pandemic. The added capacity will also allow us to support logistics around COVID-19 vaccination, which is expected to be one of the industry’s biggest logistics challenges,” said Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 777 freighter can fly 4,970 nautical miles (9,200 kms) and carry a payload of 224,900 pounds (102,010 kg). The aircraft’s long range translates into significant savings for operators like Qatar Airways Cargo, as fewer stops reduce landing fees, congestion, cargo handling costs and delivery times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
