their flight schedule after the announcement of new confinements in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See also: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/en\/2020\/12\/easyjet-will-change-carry-on-policy.html\">EasyJet will change carry-on policy.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travel restrictions due to the pandemic have caused UK-based airlines to operate at low levels, but the new lockdown, which means that most people cannot travel abroad, will almost certainly result in further cuts in the number of flights, Reuters aircraft.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our aim is to keep crucial air links open, transport vital goods and ensure that those allowed to travel can continue to do so safely,&#8221; British Airways, owned by the IAG group, said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the new confinement, easyJet, which by December had been flying at around 20 per cent of its capacity, once again called for more government aviation assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Given the continuing impact of the pandemic on travel, we continue to call for industry-specific support,&#8221; the airline said in its
