A coronavirus test and recommended periods of self-quarantine or self-isolation upon arrival. Those will be the requirements for anyone who wants to travel to the United States from abroad, President Joe Biden announced after his first full day in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden’s administration has made it a priority to curb the pandemic in the country, where the virus has claimed the lives of 400,000 people to date, and signed a series of executive orders to that end, reported the BBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The situation will get worse before it gets better,” Biden warned, warning that the United States could surpass 500,000 deaths from the virus next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to his plan, the vaccination process will be accelerated and the number of tests will be increased, and he will try to use emergency legislation to increase the production of essential equipment such as masks or masks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the big promises in Biden’s plan is to reach 100 million vaccinations in his first 100 days in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for travel, Biden said that facemasks will be mandatory in airports, commercial airplanes, trains, public maritime vessels, including ferries and intercity bus services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While airlines, the train system and other transportation providers require passengers to wear masks, this executive order makes it a federal mandate, leaving little room for passengers to argue about their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travelers seeking to enter the United States from a foreign country will be required to present a recent negative COVID-19 test prior to entry, and will be required to comply with other applicable Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines regarding international travel, including recommended periods of self-quarantine or self-isolation after entry into the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
