Boeing announced Friday the addition of a new production line at its Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) joint venture to manufacture complex vertical fin structures for the 737 family of aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expansion marks an important milestone for the joint venture and reaffirms the commitment to make India self-sufficient in defense manufacturing, according to a joint press release from Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Boeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TASL managing director and CEO Sukaran Singh said the expansion of aerostructure manufacturing capabilities with the new production line was another milestone in the company’s collaboration with Boeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing India president Salil Gupte said Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited was an example of Boeing’s commitment toward co-development of integrated aerospace and defense systems in India for the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spread over 14,000 square meters, the state-of-the-art facility has been producing aerostructures for Boeing’s AH-64 Apache helicopter, including airframes, secondary structures and vertical boxes for customers worldwide, the statement added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
