The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported that it is offering an online training course to help laid-off cabin crew members re-enter the job market. This course will be offered free of charge to those who register between February 9 and 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A survey of 800 cabin crew members who have lost their jobs due to the crisis revealed that 78% wanted help in identifying skills that can enable them to transfer to other roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Cabin Crew – Leveraging Professional Skills” course has been developed with input from former crewmembers to meet this need, enabling them to enhance, promote and recognize professional skills that can be leveraged in other jobs. In addition, crewmembers will learn practical tips for preparing for the job application process and have the opportunity to learn from the experience of colleagues who have already transitioned to other roles outside the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Tens of thousands of crewmembers have lost their jobs in this crisis. This offer is a salute to their service to the industry. We look forward to welcoming them back to aviation, but for now many will have to look for opportunities to earn a living in other sectors. Fortunately, they have the skills to make the transition. By applying IATA’s training expertise, we will help them present these skills to potential employers,” said St\u00e9phanie Siouffi, IATA’s Director of Training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
