Irish low-cost airline Ryanair <\/strong>announced Wednesday that it plans to operate 582 routes – of which 48 will be new – and 2,500 weekly flights in Spain this summer, connecting the country with 28 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As explained in a virtual press conference by its marketing director, Dara Brady, although “there may be variations in the schedule due to travel restrictions and the pace of vaccination”, the company is “quite optimistic” and expects “to be able to operate the announced schedule”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 summer campaign also includes the largest domestic flight schedule in the airline’s history, with more than 70 routes within the country, a milestone with which they are “delighted” to be able to continue contributing to connect the different provinces of Spain while increasing connections with Europe, EFE reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the 48 new routes, 10 are domestic and will connect Alicante with Lanzarote, Ibiza, Menorca and Vitoria, and Palma with the airports of Tenerife Norte, Jerez and Zaragoza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completing the list are Malaga-Menorca, Seville-Menorca and Valencia-Fuerteventura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another 14 will connect different points of the Peninsula and the Islands with Italian cities (among them, Barcelona-Milan Malpensa, Madrid-Brindisi, Madrid-Alghero, Menorca-Naples or Menorca-Bologna), while 8 will connect with the United Kingdom, 3 with Morocco and France, and 2 with Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark and Greece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with these, the Palma-Bucharest (Romania) and Barcelona-Odesa (Ukraine) routes will be launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It has always been key to connect the regions and contribute to job creation and the development of rural economies, and that will continue to be our commitment to revive tourism in Spain in this complicated period,” said Ryanair, which generates “more than 1,800 direct jobs”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
