{"id":111181,"date":"2021-05-31T18:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-31T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=111181"},"modified":"2021-06-01T00:04:23","modified_gmt":"2021-06-01T00:04:23","slug":"qatar-airways-threatens-stop-taking-deliveries-airbus-jets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2021\/05\/qatar-airways-threatens-stop-taking-deliveries-airbus-jets.html","title":{"rendered":"Qatar Airways threatens to stop taking deliveries of Airbus jets over mysterious dispute."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Qatar Airways <\/strong>Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker threatened to stop taking deliveries of <strong>Airbus<\/strong> jets this year because of an unspecified \u201cserious\u201d disagreement, a warning that could hamper the planemaker\u2019s recovery plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf we are not able to settle that serious issue we have with them, we will refuse to take any aircraft from them,\u201d the CEO said in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-05-31\/qatar-air-is-in-a-mystery-spat-with-airbus-will-launch-777x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"broken_link\">Bloomberg TV<\/a>. Falling out with Qatar Airways, Al Baker warned, will cause Airbus \u201ca stress in the relationship with IAG, with LatAm, with other airlines in which we have a shareholding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The subject of the spat? \u201cI unfortunately cannot tell you what that issue is,\u201d Al Baker said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A position that has allowed Al Baker to put pressure on Airbus or lampoon the company in public, from threatening to cancel orders or delay deliveries to accusing Airbus of being incapable of building planes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus won\u2019t say either. A spokesperson for the Blagnac, France-based company said it\u2019s in constant talks with customers about their requirements, and that details on those discussions \u201cremain
