{"id":111300,"date":"2021-06-02T18:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-02T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=111300"},"modified":"2021-06-02T21:22:38","modified_gmt":"2021-06-02T21:22:38","slug":"barcelona-airport-reopen-t2-june-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2021\/06\/barcelona-airport-reopen-t2-june-15.html","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona-El Prat airport will reopen T2 on June 15."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Barcelona-El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport will bring Terminal T2 back into service as of June 15, adapting its facilities to the current operational situation and to all the health measures implemented to facilitate passenger health safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airport will have Terminals T1, T2A and T2B operational. Terminal T2C will not be operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aena recommended passengers traveling in the next few days to check with their airline, since, if their return flight is during June 15 or later, the arrival terminal could be different from the one used on the outbound flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the airlines that usually operate in Terminal T2 will be moved to Terminal T2. All departing flights in Terminal T2 will check in at T2B. Access to the boarding gates will be through the T2B security filter only, while arrivals will be divided into T2B for domestic and Schengen flights, and T2A for non-Schengen flights. Airlines in Terminal T1 will maintain their usual operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Investments in facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the months in which the terminal has not been operational, the company has not renounced to continue with the improvement and modernization projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These actions for the modernization of equipment and facilities represent an investment of more than 106 million euros for Terminal T2 by Aena. Among the main actions included in this investment are the construction of a new structure for the baggage handling system in Terminals T2B and T2C, the replacement of 23 boarding bridges and their associated systems, and the renovation of the air conditioning equipment, together with other investments made throughout the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Related
