As of Monday, June 7, the Spanish Government has lifted some restrictions on the arrival of tourists and, specifically, people from Latin America who have been vaccinated with the compounds authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) will be able to visit our country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iberia<\/strong> has welcomed this measure as a turning point to reactivate its flights to Latin America. A clear commitment by the airline to reinforce its leadership and take off strongly in this market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve this, and to contribute to the economic recovery of tourism, as well as to boost the return to normality as travel restrictions are lifted, Iberia has designed a summer program in which it recovers routes and expands its flight offerings, in total, 18 destinations in 16 Latin American countries and will exceed 90 weekly frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iberia restarted operations to Guayaquil in May and, in July, will add San Juan de Puerto Rico with three weekly frequencies and Cali with two weekly frequencies, both routes operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with capacity for 288 seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Argentina, Iberia obtained approval in June to operate three weekly frequencies with Buenos Aires and, in July, the company expects to increase its offer to six weekly frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the case of Venezuela, the airline is still awaiting the reopening of scheduled flights to Caracas and, in the meantime, will operate a special flight on June 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This year Iberia celebrates 75 years flying to Latin America and we would like nothing more than to celebrate this anniversary by recovering our entire network of destinations and frequencies. We are convinced that for recovery it is necessary to bet and we bet on Latin America, so this summer we want it to be the turning point to take off again in this market with the same strength as always,” said Victor Moneo, director of LATAM Sales and Institutional Agreements of Iberia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
