Iberia<\/strong> is making a strong commitment to the recovery of tourism, increasing frequencies, restarting flights to destinations to which it was not possible to fly until now due to restrictions, launching new routes, such as the Maldives, the Azores and Ljubljana, and also organizing charter flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latter are special flights, which are not part of the airline’s regular schedule, but are organized for a specific destination and purpose with very specific dates. In addition, they are marketed differently, as they are not normally listed on the airline’s website, but are marketed by travel agencies or are requested by an entity to cover its travel needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Iberia, these special flights represent an additional source of business and revenue that also allows it to increase the activity of its workforce. In June, the airline began its recovery with charter flights for LaLiga and has continued to work in this segment. One year later, the airline will operate around 40 special flights in June, one every 20 hours, a considerable figure for current traffic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last of these flights was yesterday from Madrid to Seville. Iberia is the official carrier of the Spanish National Football Team, and will take them to Seville for the group stage of the European Championship. Yesterday was the first flight, they will return on the 15th, and will take them again on June 18 and 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days ago, he also transported the U-21 team to Maribor and Ljubljana, Slovenia, for the semifinals of the U-21 European Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iberia is not only dedicated to soccer, but also to motorsports. For the first time, it will transport drivers and staff of the Formula E organization from Mexico to London on June 21. This is a combined operation with British Airways, with the British airline making the outbound flight and Iberia the return flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since September 2020, Iberia has been operating two direct flights a week between Madrid and China. Specifically, every Tuesday to Shanghai and Fridays to Hangzhou. In addition to passengers, these flights, in coordination with IAG Cargo, market the transport of cargo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, to end the month, Portugal’s largest travel agency, Abreu, has contracted a series of holiday flights from Lisbon and Porto with Porto Santo, with one frequency a week. The first operation was on June 9 and, from June 13, every Sunday until October 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
