With the aim of gradually recovering its regular schedule of flights to Uruguay, Spain’s Iberia<\/strong> has increased its service to Montevideo from three to five weekly frequencies since August, demonstrating the airline’s commitment to this market and reinforcing its leadership in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These flights are operated with Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with capacity for 288 passengers, 19 in Business Class and 269 in Economy Class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The increase of the operation is aimed at improving connectivity between Uruguay and the more than 90 destinations to which Iberia flies in Europe. It is also accompanied by a very attractive campaign with prices starting at 626 USD, roundtrip in Economy class, and a flexibility policy, in order to facilitate changes or refunds in vouchers when personal or destination circumstances are affected by the current situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Montevideo was the first route on which Iberia launched the IATA Travel Pass<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 7, Iberia became the first European airline to launch -together with IATA- the IATA Travel Pass digital passport on its routes between Europe and Latin America, and Montevideo was the first destination chosen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new application makes it possible to store, manage and verify the health documentation required for travel, i.e. COVID-19 test certificates and, in a next step, also vaccination certificates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
