{"id":116144,"date":"2021-09-15T15:48:59","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T15:48:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=116144"},"modified":"2021-09-15T15:49:31","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T15:49:31","slug":"american-airlines-and-gol-sign-exclusive-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2021\/09\/american-airlines-and-gol-sign-exclusive-agreement.html","title":{"rendered":"American Airlines and GOL sign exclusive codeshare agreement."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This Wednesday, <strong>American Airlines <\/strong>announced that it has signed a letter of intent to further strengthen its partnership with <strong>GOL<\/strong>, Brazil&#8217;s largest airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building on the two carriers\u2019 initial codeshare offering in 2020, the expanded partnership includes an exclusive codeshare agreement, a larger and more lucrative joint SMILES and AAdvantage loyalty program partnership. It also expects to increase commercial cooperation with GOL to accelerate growth and create a more seamless experience for all customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>See<\/em> <em>also: <\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/en\/2021\/08\/level-american-resume-codeshare-flights.html\"><em>LEVEL and American Airlines resume codeshare flights.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAmerican has long been the leading U.S. carrier to South America and our stronger partnership with GOL solidifies that leadership position,\u201d said Robert Isom, President of American Airlines. \u201cOur long-haul network marries seamlessly with GOL\u2019s strong domestic network in Brazil. Together, we will be able to offer customers flying to, through and from Brazil, access to the largest network with the lowest fares and the Americas\u2019 biggest and best joint travel loyalty program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exclusive Codeshare between the U.S. and Brazil<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOL will become American\u2019s sole codeshare partner in Brazil and American will become GOL\u2019s sole codeshare partner in the U.S. On their combined networks, customers can travel to more than 30 destinations served by American in the U.S. and more than 20 new destinations in South America served by GOL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis codeshare agreement between two of the leading airlines in the Americas combines our highly complementary route networks to offer customers a seamless travel experience with the largest number of flights and destinations in North and South America,\u201d said GOL CEO Paulo Kakinoff. \u201cWe believe that this will bolster GOL\u2019s presence in international markets, accelerate our long-term growth, and maximize value for our shareholders.
