With this new route, Volotea<\/strong> airline reiterates once again its commitment to the Principality, from where it has operated more than 11,500 flights, transported more than 1,300,000 passengers and created a hundred jobs in its nine years of operations at the Asturian airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With 12 routes connecting the Principality with Alicante, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga, Mallorca, Menorca, Murcia, Tenerife South, Seville, Valencia and, from December, Fuerteventura, Volotea makes it clear that the Asturias airport is fundamental in its development plans in the short and medium term due to the enormous growth possibilities it has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far this year alone Volotea has operated almost 1,200 flights, representing a 50% growth in capacity compared to the whole of 2020, and carried more than 175,000 passengers, 33% more than in the whole of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our commitment to the Principality has been demonstrated throughout all these years of presence at Asturias Airport. With an initial offer of 21,700 seats in 2012, we have been increasing our capacity to reach the 285,000 seats that we will offer as of December. Since we started operating our first flights, until today, we have been increasing our presence at this airport convinced of its enormous potential. In this sense, this new route to Fuerteventura allows us to continue with our goal of improving the connectivity of Asturias,” said Gabriel Schmilovich, Chief Strategy Officer of Volotea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
