{"id":118126,"date":"2021-11-09T17:07:53","date_gmt":"2021-11-09T17:07:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=118126"},"modified":"2021-11-09T17:08:15","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T17:08:15","slug":"gol-reports-third-quarter-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2021\/11\/gol-reports-third-quarter-loss.html","title":{"rendered":"Brazilian airline Gol reports third quarter loss of the year."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Brazilian airline<strong> Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes<\/strong> reported on Tuesday a net loss of 884.6 million reais ($160.54 million) for the third quarter as traffic remained below pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That compared with a loss of 872 million reais a year earlier and the company said that while demand for air travel continued to pick up in Brazil, it has still only reached 53% of pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/en\/2021\/09\/gol-purchase-of-250-evtol-aircraft.html\">Brazil\u2019s Gol announces purchase of 250 eVTOL aircraft.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gol said that including losses from the steep depreciation of the Brazilian real and non-recurring items, its quarterly net loss totalled 2.53 billion reais, widening from a loss of 1.72 billion reais a year earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group\u2019s net revenue totaled 1.9 billion reais in the third quarter, up 96.4% year-on-year, while adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) came in at 464.7 million reais, a 63.6% rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline said it expects capacity to grow 29% in the fourth quarter year-on-year on the back of higher vaccination rates, Brazil\u2019s summer traveling season and the resumption of international flights, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/gol-results\/update-2-brazilian-airline-gol-reports-third-quarter-loss-expects-better-q4-idUSL1N2S00RW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Reuters<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/en\/2021\/09\/american-airlines-and-gol-sign-exclusive-agreement.html\">American Airlines and GOL sign exclusive codeshare agreement.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe expect a growth in sales through the end of the year and are confident that the trend will continue into 2022,\u201d Chief Executive Paulo Kakinoff said in a securities filing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline\u2019s liquidity is expected to reach 3.8 billion reais by the end of the year, from a total liquidity of 2.08 billion reais in the third quarter.
