{"id":118657,"date":"2021-11-20T13:59:37","date_gmt":"2021-11-20T13:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=118657"},"modified":"2021-11-20T14:04:19","modified_gmt":"2021-11-20T14:04:19","slug":"trial-date-lawsuit-against-american-jetblue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2021\/11\/trial-date-lawsuit-against-american-jetblue.html","title":{"rendered":"Trial date set in antitrust lawsuit against American and JetBlue."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The judge hearing the U.S. Justice Department\u2019s antitrust case against <a href=\"https:\/en?s=american\">American Airlines<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/en?s=jetblue\">JetBlue Airways<\/a> has set a trial date for the second half of next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2021\/10\/american-airlines-redesigns-aadvantage.html\">American Airlines redesigns its AAdvantage loyalty program.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U.S. District Judge Leo Sorokin in Boston scheduled the case to begin Sept. 26, 2022, according to court documents filed on Friday. The trial stems from an antitrust lawsuit filed by the Justice Department and six states over what is called the \u201cNortheast Alliance\u201d partnership between JetBlue and the world\u2019s largest airline, American Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suit alleges the deal would lead to higher fares in busy Northeastern U.S. airports and seeks to block the plan, which was announced in July 2020 and approved by the U.S. Transportation Department shortly before the end of the Trump administration, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/american-airline-jetblue-airways\/u-s-judge-sets-trial-date-in-american-airlines-jetblue-antitrust-lawsuit-idUSL1N2SA2XI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer
