Tocumen International Airport (Panama)<\/strong>, with an index of 91.93%, was recognized by the specialist firm in aviation sector analysis (Cirium) as one of the most punctual airports in the world, after evaluating its global performance during the year 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This worldwide recognition is awarded to airlines and airports that have demonstrated outstanding on-time performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Tocumen, only Latin American airport in the TOP 10 of world\u2019s main airports hubs.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Manager of Tocumen International Airport, Raffoul Arab, indicated that “2021 was a complex year for the aviation industry, however, it marks the beginning of the recovery, where we continue to maintain the punctuality of our operations as one of the main differentiating factors, once again demonstrating our ability to adapt to the new normality”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This recognition “is a reward for the effort, dedication and commitment made this year by the entire team that is part of the Panama Hub,” said Arab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cirium monitors the level of disruption by measuring “the completion factor of flights and their punctuality,” said Jeremy Bowen, Cirium’s CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between January and November 2021, Tocumen International Airport recorded 78,381 aircraft operations between departures and arrivals; it reported that 19 commercial airlines have reactivated operations with direct flights to 68 destinations in 31 countries in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cirium resumed reporting in June 2021, when flight volumes returned, with regular monthly updates that help gauge the industry’s performance in getting passengers from point A to point B on time. Cirium’s on-time performance analysis is based on operations data from more than 600 real-time flight information sources. The company collects data from more than 25 million flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
