LATAM Airlines<\/strong> was highlighted as the most sustainable airline group in the Americas, Europe and Oceania, and fourth worldwide, in the 2022 edition of Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Sustainability Yearbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

51 companies in the industry were evaluated through criteria that measure best environmental, social and corporate governance practices. This year, LATAM obtained the Bronze category and had an outstanding performance in the following areas: Environmental and Social Reporting, Climate Strategy, Passenger Safety, Labor Practices Indicators, Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are proud that from this part of the world we are recognized by such an important organization as S&P, in a dimension that today is critical for all companies. As a group we have many plans and a lot of ambition, we have set ourselves very demanding goals and in the coming months, we hope to announce new initiatives that will allow us to continue advancing in the protection of iconic ecosystems in Latin America, the migration to a zero waste to landfill model, and increase our connectivity capacity for the benefit of communities in the region,” said Roberto Alvo, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, the group launched its sustainability strategy, highlighting its commitment to protecting South America’s strategic ecosystems, migrating to a zero waste-to-landfill model, and making its connectivity capacity available for the benefit of the region’s communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The strategy’s lines of action were designed collaboratively with environmental experts and organizations throughout the region and seek to make the group carbon neutral by 2050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
