and American Airlines close previously announced exclusive deal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>GOL Linhas A\u00e9reas Inteligentes <\/strong>announced the closing of the Transaction involving the expansion of its commercial cooperation with <strong>American Airlines Group<\/strong> through an exclusive codeshare agreement for the next three years and an equity investment by the North American airline for US$200 million in 22.2 million newly issued preferred shares of GOL through a capital increase for a 5.3% stake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the Transaction, American and GOL entered into a shareholders&#8217; agreement that grants the U.S. airline the right to appoint one member of the Brazilian airline&#8217;s Board of Directors during the term of the exclusivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/03\/american-expands-its-presence-at-heathrow-airport.html\">American Airlines expands its presence at London\u2019s Heathrow Airport.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement expands beyond the terms of the existing codeshare partnership between the two airlines, enhancing travel opportunities for its passengers, the customer experience and GOL&#8217;s competitive position on routes connecting North and South America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Effective February 2020, the existing codeshare already represented the largest route network in the Americas, allowing Gol customers to travel seamlessly to more than 30 destinations in the U.S. The partnership flights currently operate out of the Brazilian airline&#8217;s hubs in S\u00e3o Paulo (GRU) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG), integrating 34 domestic and international route options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"related-topics\">Related
