Eastern restarts flights using Boeing 737-800 after crash"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>China Eastern Airlines <\/strong>has restarted using <strong>Boeing 737-800 <\/strong>jetliners for commercial flights less than a month after a crash that killed 132 people on board and grounded over 200 of its aircraft, data from a tracking website Flightradar24 showed Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>China Eastern flight MU5843, operated by a three-year-old Boeing 737-800 aircraft, took off from the southwestern city of Kunming at 09:58 a.m. local time (0158 GMT) on Sunday and landed at Chengdu, also in southwestern China, at 11:03 a.m. local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/04\/china-southern-plans-to-take-delivery-142-737-maxs.html\">China Southern plans to take delivery of 142 Boeing 737 MAXs by 2024.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That aircraft completed a test flight on Saturday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/china-crash-boeing\/china-eastern-restarts-flights-using-boeing-737-800-after-march-crash-data-idUSL3N2WF02Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Reuters<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another Boeing 737-800 jet conducted a test flight on Sunday morning in Shanghai, where China Eastern is based, Flightradar24 data showed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 21, Flight MU5735, which was en route from Kunming to Guangzhou, crashed in the mountains of Guangxi and killed 123 passengers and nine crew members in mainland China\u2019s deadliest aviation disaster in 28 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>China has retrieved both<strong> <\/strong>of the black boxes and has said it would submit a preliminary report to the U.N.
