Ryanair<\/strong> announced Wednesday the expansion of its aircraft maintenance facility in Kaunas (Lithuania) with the construction of a new 2-bay hangar. Construction work on the new infrastructure will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022, with aircraft maintenance operations scheduled to start by the end of 2023. The project, which will be carried out on a 7,043 square meter plot of land, will expand aircraft maintenance infrastructure (MRO) and increase the airport’s overall competitiveness, while creating more than 200 new high-paying jobs for engineers and mechanics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has also announced its largest ever flight schedule to Lithuania, with 50 routes, including 12 new summer routes to destinations in Spain, Hungary and Finland. Ryanair’s four aircraft based in Kaunas and Vilnius (2 at each base) represent an investment of more than $400 million, providing 120 direct jobs for aviation professionals and 450 new jobs in Lithuania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate these new connections, Ryanair has launched a seat offer with flights starting from \u20ac19.99 for travel until October 2022. This promotion will be available until Thursday, April 28 through the Ryanair.com website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Following the recent announcement of a 5-year heavy maintenance agreement with Joramco earlier this month, we are delighted to announce plans to expand our maintenance facility in Kaunas with the construction of a new 2-bay hangar. This project will create up to 200 well paid engineering jobs and will be operational from next year,” said Neal McMahon, Ryanair’s Chief Operating Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
