With red and green letters on a white background and a very familiar logo. This is how Aeroitalia<\/strong>, the new airline that will fly in Italian skies, was presented this Tuesday at Fiumicino Aeroitalia, which has the support of German Efromovich, former head of Avianca and longtime Alitalia suitor, and French banker Marc Bourgade, TTG Italia<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We decided to make this livery that recalls the tradition of Italian aviation. I was very sorry to see thousands of professionals out of work in the last two years. What Aeroitalia will be able to do is to try to absorb as many former Alitalia, Air Italy and Blue Panorama employees as possible. This is the main reason why I have decided to accept this not easy challenge at a time when in our country there is a valuable competitor called Ryanair, which is now the absolute dominator of the market,” said Gaetano Intrieri, CEO of the airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aeroitalia, having obtained Enac’s air operator’s certificate last week, landed at Ridolfi airport with the first of six Boeing 737-800 aircraft that will form part of its fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We started operating from Forl\u00ec airport, but we are very interested in flying south, especially to Puglia and Foggia. Also to Fiumicino, destined to become the hub for long-haul flights to Latin America and the United States. It is clear that this is a 100% Roman airline from Fiumicino,” commented Intrieri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We hope that someone on the other side understands that we may not be as good as Ryanair, but we can do aviation and employ, if we are good, a thousand people who are currently out of work.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the press conference, Germ\u00e1n Efromovich said he was sure that “Aeroitalia will mark the history of aviation for many years to come and will serve as an example of how to offer a service with an adequate quality standard and competitive prices.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
