From May 1 Iberia<\/strong> will start operating its summer routes with Portugal, a market in which the airline will increase its capacity by 9% compared to 2019, a sign of its commitment to improve connections with the neighboring country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the usual flights from Madrid to Lisbon and Porto, Funchal will be added in May and Faro and Azores in June. These five destinations will have good connectivity with Iberia’s network of more than 100 international routes in Europe, the United States and Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Iberia to recover 85% of its capacity this summer.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May, the airline will offer 67 weekly frequencies each way between Madrid and Portugal, up from 65 in 2019. And in August, the month with the largest operation, this figure rises to 76 weekly frequencies, which also represents a 15% increase in the number of flights compared to 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madeira, Faro and Azores, summer destinations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From May 1 until the end of October, Iberia will offer direct flights from Madrid to Funchal three times a week (Monday, Friday and Sunday). In July, these flights will increase to five weekly and in August the airline will offer a daily flight to the capital of Madeira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 2, the airline will launch its second summer destination in Portugal: Faro. The airline will start offering three flights a week (Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) and in the months of July will increase to five and in August it will reach the daily flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Iberia adds two new aircraft to its fleet.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iberia repeats this year in Ponta Delgada (Azores) with direct flights from Madrid on Tuesdays and Saturdays from June to September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More flights Lisbon and Porto<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to incorporating its summer destinations in Portugal, Iberia will also increase its regular offer between Madrid and Lisbon with up to 36 weekly flights each way, up from 33 in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the same on the Madrid and Porto route: the airline will offer up to 28 weekly frequencies (four daily flights) from May to October, up from 26 in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
