{"id":126076,"date":"2022-05-06T18:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-06T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=126076"},"modified":"2022-05-06T21:03:36","modified_gmt":"2022-05-06T21:03:36","slug":"iberia-and-taag-announce-codeshare-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2022\/05\/iberia-and-taag-announce-codeshare-agreement.html","title":{"rendered":"Iberia and Angolan airline TAAG announce codeshare agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Iberia and TAAG Angolan Airlines <\/strong>announced Friday a codeshare and interline agreement that will strengthen connectivity between Europe and Africa through the Angolan airline&#8217;s new Luanda-Madrid-Luanda gateway route. Flights will begin on June 27, offering connections to dozens of markets between Africa and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The codeshare and interline agreement will allow passengers traveling from TAAG&#8217;s network in Africa to connect via Madrid to Iberia&#8217;s network in Europe, Latin America and North America, reaching more than 100 destinations in 43 countries. The agreement also allows Iberia passengers to connect to TAAG&#8217;s network in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/04\/iberia-will-increase-its-capacity-in-portugal.html\">This summer, Iberia will increase its capacity in Portugal by 9% compared to 2019.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the launch of this TAAG flight, Madrid becomes its tenth international destination from the Luanda hub, in addition to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Windhoek, Maputo, Kinshasa, Lagos, Lisbon, S\u00e3o Paulo and S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAAG will offer twice-weekly flights between Madrid and Luanda. The new route will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER with a capacity of 293 seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eduardo Fairen Soria, CEO of the Angolan airline, said, &#8220;TAAG is pleased to announce this new codeshare and interline agreement with IBERIA. In addition to increasing connectivity between Europe and Africa, it will allow us to expand our destination offering and position Luanda as a relevant hub in the Southern African region.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are delighted to announce this codeshare and interline agreement with TAAG that will bring Spain and Angola closer together and boost tourism and business travel between the two countries. Iberia and TAAG Angola Airlines customers will benefit from the international network of both carriers. This agreement reinforces our commitment to expand our network into new markets, such as Africa, and improve connectivity between Spain and the rest of the world. Iberia&#8217;s network currently includes more than 134 destinations in 43 countries,&#8221; said Javier Sanchez-Prieto, Iberia&#8217;s President and CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
