The new Dominican airline Arajet<\/strong> received its second Boeing 737 MAX 8<\/strong> aircraft, named “Valle Nuevo”, at the Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo. The modern aircraft joins “Pico Duarte” under the strategy of raising, promoting and creating awareness of the importance of preserving the country’s main protected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft landed on Dominican soil last Friday, May 13, from the city of Seattle, United States, and was received by Arajet executives and the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Orlando Jorge Mera. Also present were Monika Infante, executive president of AERODOM and Francis Almonte, deputy administrative director of the General Directorate of Customs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V\u00edctor Pacheco, president of Arajet, expressed that the airline has a firm commitment to the environment, which is why the fleet of aircraft will be the most respectful of natural resources thanks to the efficiency of the Boeing 737 MAX 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Each of our airplanes will have the name of a protected area of the country, in order to raise awareness and promote the importance of its preservation and, at the same time, boost the country’s domestic tourism and promote it internationally” said Pacheco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Orlando Jorge Mera, highlighted the importance of private initiatives for the preservation and promotion of sustainable tourism in local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 New Dominican airline Arajet is looking for pilots.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For the government, it is very gratifying to see Arajet creating awareness in the Dominican population that we must all make efforts to protect the environment for the benefit of the country’s sustainability,” said Jorge Mera, who also invited the airline to join other environmental preservation initiatives developed by the Ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arajet has an exclusive fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8, high-capacity and the most environmentally efficient in the world, which will save on fuel, maintenance and operating costs, and transfer these savings to its customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will soon begin operations with flights to Central America and the Caribbean and later in the year to the United States, with the aim of offering the lowest fares in the market and turning Santo Domingo into the Hub of the Caribbean to better connect the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
