Brazilian airport authority Infraero said Friday that it notified the Federal Police of an apparent hacking of electronic screens at an airport in Rio de Janeiro: instead of announcements and flight information, pornographic movies appeared in front of travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In images spread on social networks, travelers at Santos Dumont airport were seen laughing in front of the screens, hiding them from their children or simply surprised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its statement, the airport authority said its information services are outsourced to another company, which it also notified of what happened, AP reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We emphasize that the content displayed on our communication screens is the responsibility of the companies that have advertising rights,” Infraero said. It said its partners use their own publishing systems, which are not related to Infraero’s flight information system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport authority said it shut down the screens that had been hacked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
