Nepalese authorities on Monday located and recovered the bodies of all 22 people aboard a plane that crashed Sunday into a Himalayan mountainside, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two Germans, four Indians and 16 Nepalis were on the De Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter plane that crashed 15 minutes after takeoff from the resort town of Pokhara, 125 km west of Kathmandu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nepalese soldiers and rescue personnel had recovered 20 bodies from the wreckage of the plane, strewn across a steep slope at an altitude of about 14,500 feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government reported that it had set up a five-member panel to determine the cause of the crash and suggest preventive measures for the future, Reuters<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plane, operated by the private company Tara Air, crashed amid cloudy weather and the wreckage was not detected until Monday morning by the Nepal Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crash site is near Nepal’s border with China, in a region where Mount Dhaulagiri, the world’s seventh highest peak at 8,167 meters, is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight tracking website Flightradar24 said the plane first flew 43 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
